Nearing an end to our slightly belated Tech Fest Interview flurry we were able to speak to yet another excellent band. Having been around for quite a while now in the UK Tech scene, No Consequence are somewhat of a house hold name. With both Kaan and Colin having attended Tech Fest since it’s infancy the two couldn’t have been happier to be performing later on, on the main stage. We were able to sit down with the two and speak about the brand new album Vimana, how the band has grown over the years from their beginning and what it’s going to be like playing a guitarist down!

You’ve mentioned that people are kind of as technical as possible now. Do you think that technology has got a part to do with that?

Absolutely!

Kaan : Yeah I think so, I think there’s always been people like shredding and stuff. Even before computers and stuff got involved but I think that what computers and especially technoloy is what it has allowed people to do is to reach more people. So there’s a lot more people that are just amazing guitarists that have got an internet following. You know like Sithu Aye and Plini and stuff like that and then just coming and doing exclusive live shows. It’s cool and its awesome that Tech Fest can provide that for people as well. Yeah, its good!

Excellent, so how was the writing process behind Vimana?

Colin : Mainly our guitarist Dan, with IO, the album before it was very much Guitar Pro based you know? A lot more techy…

Kaan : A lot more programmed, he was thinking about certain ideas and trying to like notate them down basically, whereas this one was just more like plug in, record and just try and figure stuff out that way. We wanted to create a bit more space and a bit more atmosphere. So yeah that’s the main difference.

Colin : It will just be interesting to see how it translates live, without a guitarist haha! We’ve had a really good response from people it’s good to see that people are enjoying it!
