Former Ramones member Tommy Ramone has died. At the age of 62 the last remaining member of the cult visionary punk band died in his residential home in Ridgewood,Queens, New York following his treatment for bile duct cancer. Although beginning as a manager of the band, Tommy Ramone eventually became the bands drummer as Joey Ramone found that he couldn’t keep up with the increasingly fast drums whilst also singing. Tommy was the drummer for the Ramones first three albums (Ramones, Leave Home and Rocket to Russia) which led to them becoming one of the biggest punk bands all over the world, whilst not only drumming Tommy was busy at the helm with production duties.
A true hero to some and a real punk rocker to all, rest in peace Tommy.
