After releasing the first taster from the drummer’s first solo album, we are being treated to a brand new track from the forthcoming album. The typically metal sounding “Buried Under The Flames” is the second example from the new album premiereing over at Zero Tolerance the new song differs to our first taster of the new album. A slow burner (no pun intended) stating that the song will be the albums closer Kollias speaks about the track :
“‘Buried under the Flames’ is one of my favourite songs and the slowest on this record. It feels very emotional and sad with an intense ending, and therefore I see it as a great introduction to my work. I wanted to add some Greek elements without touching on the same subjects that everyone uses. This inspired me to use the beautiful choir, which fits the track like a glove. Mike Papadopoulos contributes the guitar solo and it is one of the finest that I’ve ever heard! I could not think of any better song to close the album in such an epic way!“
With many tracks on the album featuring some form of guest artist, this will definitely be containing some Easter eggs that will tie fans over until the new Nile record will be penned for the rest of the year!
George Kollias’ first solo album Invictus will be available through Season of Mist on May 19th and you can preorder the album here.
