Premiering over at Lambgoat Misery Index have released their latest single form last years absolutely knockout The Killing Gods. One of my personal favourite albums of the year the record features a band that is incredibly deadly slowly evolve whilst retaining exactly what embodies their sound.
Directing the video was David Hall, speaking about the inspiration behind the clip the director States :
In February, Jason Netherton asked me if I would be interested in making a second video for ‘The Killing Gods’ track ‘The Harrowing’, says the director. “Of course, the answer was ‘yes’ and we started talking about ideas. Jason had the concept of some sort of nefarious cult or gang that kidnaps someone, tortures them, tries to indoctrinate them, and eventually kills their victim. After some research and thought we came up with the idea of a Zodiac style outfit, just because the associated meaning is kind of open ending, and honestly, it’s creepy as hell.
Having watched the video myself, the shots are insterspersed with sections of the band playing live along with Netherton’s commanding presence all wrapped in a grainy filter throughout. Reminding me of the German chiller Funny Games meets a slightly DIY Clockwork Orange its a great track from an already fantastic album.
