Mike Burkett better known as Fat Mike of NOFX has always been seen to be a pretty nice guy. However at a show on their Australian tour the punk rock singer kicked a fan in the face. In this age of what occurs on stage having serious, potentially life changing consquences (Randy Blythe) didn’t even think. Alex Medak ran on stage to give the singer a hug and instead got met with a boot to the face.

Now being in the wonderful digital world that we live in ,after the gig the fan who was kicked tweeted Fat Mike :

@FatMike_of_NOFX thanks for the KO mike, didn’t hurt too much. Soz for creepin up on you like, punk shows are a bit different down here.

And Fat Mike being the kind of person he is responded to his slightly disgruntled fan saying :

I’m sorry too Alex, I was in terrible pain all night. When you grabbed me by the neck I defensively reacted… offensively @alexanderpeterq

After them both having a small chat over Twitter it was arranged that Alex would meet Fat Mike in Sydney before the show and well as they say an eye for an eye. Alex was not only given the opportunity to get on stage with the band in sing one of NOFX’s best “Linoleum” but also have a custom made shirt given to him by the band (which they signed) and the best bit, got to rightfully kick Fat Mike with a slipper to the shin.

Below is the video of Alex’s revenge. It just goes to show that now with the techonological advancement of the internet it really is a lot easier to get in touch with any of your favourite artists. Pretty cool seeing in past years the process would have take a lot longer. The cynic in me is also thinking that perhaps Mike did it for his public image, I hope not personally as he seems like an all around nice in the alternative community.
