Beginning as the slow and sluggish caterpillar Job For A Cowboy were the kings in deathcore. A genre although popular, is easily forgotten and largely not respected. Fast forward to 2014 and the band have blossomed into a beautiful progressive metal doom laden butterfly.

With Sun Eater easily being the years best kept secret the band have not only improved so much in their own sake but in regards to death metal itself. There’s going to be some flack, as most of their new sounds aren’t the bone headed slam they originated from but mature well structured songs that stand tall. Third song in we’re already treated to some of the best death metal guitar work and Nick Schendzielos bass guitar is sublime giving the riffing flavour. Tony Sannicandro is also on top form with some of the most tasteful soloing of the year on “The Synthetic Sea” memorable hooks abound along with the guttural bellows of Jonny Davy, November is definitely going to be going out with a bang before long. Don’t take my word for it though!

Listen to Sun Eater In full at Metal Blades stream before it’s release this coming Monday 10th of October and make sure to pre order the album here.
