Now only a mere week away from the release of their new album Bloodstones & Diamonds Machine Head have released a third song. “Night Of The Long Knives” is now the usual length of Machine Head at just over seven minutes. Although the track is definitely catchy there doesn’t seem to be much progression within the band, with a section of the solo’s sounding very similar to their masterpiece that was The Blackening also a bridge that sounds suspiciously like Aerials by a certain Armenian band. Nevertheless its a well written song with a soaring chorus sure to get any Headcase going, not to mention the first two tracks were brilliantly executed.
Listen below and see what you think, are Machine Head too formulaic or are they just good at what they do?
Machine Head’s much anticipated follow up to the boring lack lustre Locust, Bloodstone & Diamonds will be released November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records.
