Following his teasers and a recent revamp of the Ziltoid website, at long last metal’s mad man has released a brand new song. “Deathray” is off the forthcoming double album, Z2 where one disc will include material from Devin Townsend and disc two will be his more theatrical side kick, Ziltoid. We couldn’t be more welcoming of the alien hell bent on mankinds destruction.

With his first song from the album continuing the tongue in cheek vein that is classic Devin Townsend opening the lyrics video with a intro that would have Ridley Scott believe that the Nostromo was actually one big party! Added with a seriously groovy verse that makes the song feel like alien disco metal, with a great slightly out of time chorus it has most certainly set the tone for the album. Even Ripley would be kicking it, humanity’s destruction never sounded so good!

Z2 will be released October 27th via Inside Out and will surely be the rock opera of the year!
