Stone Sour, the band featuring Slipknot member Corey Taylor on vocals have revealed that they have entered the studio to record a new covers album that will include new guitarist Christian Martucci.

Where the band have found the time to do this is a mystery, given that Slipknot are just beginning a new cycle with a brand new album and tour on the way. Given that the band recently fired guitarist and Slipknot member Jim Root though, it’s likely the band will be recording the instruments with Taylor laying down vocals at a later stage.

No details about the cover album has been released so we can’t exactly comment yet except the fact that it is a very interesting decision for the band to go in that direction. The album is due for a release in 2015.
