Not only is Los Angeles one of the most lucrative places in metal, with bands small and large forming all the while its home to some of the iconic rock scenes in history. Among The Roxy and Whiskey A Go Go is the iconic House of Blues, which unfortunately it has been said is to go down the Astoria route and will be demolished. The plan for the demolition is for a lot of the Sunset Strip, not only the venue itself but surely other old haunts will be seeing their last days sooner than much of us wanted. Having hosted some of the most interesting acts in metal, right through the genre it shall really be a shame to see it go. Although there plans to install a new venue that will still cater to the metal scene but it will never be the same, with a new name comes a new identity, something that will never be replaced. It is a crying shame that more and more venues seem to be going for the plans of new properties or developments. For the metal scene which seems to be lessening with every year metal heads are having a harder time to just find somewhere to hang out! I myself have always wanted to catch a band in The House of Blues, living in London, I’ve not had the biggest of chances. If you’re lucky enough to be living in the area get yourself down there before it shuts down.
We will keep you updated with the latest news as and when we hear in terms of the final date for the legendary House Of Blues!
