We all know and love the stereotypes behind doom metal…long songs with sludgy rhythms and dark lyrics. But can people actually listen to songs that are 40-minutes long? UK doom metallers Ommadon have released one…
The track, entitled ‘V2‘, clocks in at 39:28 minutes and is the successor track to ‘V1‘, both part of the album ‘V‘ released this week via Domestic Genocide Records. We often wonder if someone sits down and decides to listen to extensively long tracks like this, especially when about 30-minutes of it is just feedback noise and wooshing. Perhaps there are a few artistic principles behind the song lengths we don’t know about?
If anyone manages to get through the song in one sitting hats off, we’ve only made it to about 21-minutes thus far…
