Yesterday it was announced that Dark Funeral have at long last entered the studio to record their follow up sixth album.
Not counting their previous single “Nail Them To The Cross” it’s now been a full six years since Dark Funeral’s last release. Announcing that they have at last returned to their studios they are more than excited to get the new material out there. The new record will be the first to feature new singer Heljarmadr, who previously made his recorded debut on the band’s single release last year.
Commenting on entering the studio Lord Ahriman states :
“We’ve been waiting for this day a long time! Today we’ve finally entered Dug-Out studios in Uppsala to begin the recording of our sixth studio album!
He continues : Last we were here, we recorded the Nail Them To The Cross single and that was indeed a great warm up for the new album. It introduced Heljarmadr as the new vocalist and lyricist, showing that we are unstoppable and that we still hold the world in our hands, ready to crush and destroy!
We are extremely eager to bring this monster into this world and after months of preparations we are finally here to summon the beast!!”
Producer at the helm for the album will be Daniel Bergstrand responsible for Meshuggah and In Flames, the album will be released later this year via Century Media Records.
