Darkest Hour have made another new song available for you listening pleasure, “By the Starlight” and it is different to say the least. Beginning with acoustic guitars and adding small leads, not only acoustic but John Henry’s vocals are not the usual barking but actual singing. Which, it has to be said work terrifically with guest artists DREAMINGS haunting melodies. Then moving into the signature Darkest Hour riffing and ending on slow arpeggios.

Given the amount of variation that their self titled effort has so far  it will definitely be worth checking out, its pretty much essential for Darkest Hour at this point on album number eight and after the fairly adequate The Human Romance to really change the game. Although this might alienate some fans its always a gamble changing style, but for now it seems that Darkest Hour are doing it with confidence and flair whilst also retaining their signature sound.
