Wovenwar Annouce UK Tour

At the tail end of their European trek with Sylosis it seems that the band have a certain soft spot for us Brits. With their first show being last year’s Barfly appearance Wovenwar have now announced that they will have a short five date stint this May. Beginning in Nottingham and finishing up Glasgow the band will be playing headlining shows completely seperate from their Sylosis support slot.

The band states in classic British dialect…

“If we lads in Wovenwar had a pence for every great show memory experienced in the Europe, our trousers’d be loaded with one or two quid… each.  Off our trolley’s in enthused anticipation of our upcoming tour, we look forward to performing many more wonderful moments with you lot. Cheers!“

Though many are treating the band like the pieced together remains of As I Lay Dying it’s important to note that this is no longer the same band. It also a fantastic opportunity for a rebirth. With Oh, Sleeper vocalist Shane Blay being drafted in as the bands new singer, Wovenwar triumphantly began looking ahead after the demise of As I Lay Dying. Not that it is a good thing, but perhaps the events that unfolded held a certain silver lining. Now the band are able to evolve into a band that is current, new and most importantly not stale. As I Lay Dying was “the scene band” back in the beginning of 2000’s bar the recent controversy, personally I believe that things were going downhill. Though the one good thing about the old band was the instrumentation. With Wovenwar the band have been given a second chance, a rebirth.
