Virginia prog metallers While Heaven Wept continue to impress releasing another new track from their upcoming new album ‘Suspended at Aphelion‘.
The track is called ‘Souls in Permafrost‘, and whilst one would think of an appropriate title for an Immortal track, this is full of progressive greatness. The track is more upbeat than the previously release ‘Icarus and I‘, and strikes the master tone of progressive metal and is a recommendation to all.
The band have really impressed in recent years and the magic apparently does not grind to a halt here. Guitarist Tom Williams spoke out about the release of the new track:
“Part 7 of Suspended At Aphelion is one of my favorite parts and epitomizes the madness of the album – this is what I’ve meant about music moving in every direction and intense counterpoint – with the angular guitar lines, Jim’s serpentine bassline, the gothic choir chants all juxtaposed beneath Rain’s lead vocal, this ‘rough edit’ of ‘Permafrost’ is about as complex as it gets without being overtly technical/self-aggrandizing…plus it provides a ‘sneak peak’ into what is to come with Part 8 as well!”
The band releases their new album October 24th, be sure to pick it up!
