Having already had a taster of new material from the swede’s we now see a different side of the brand new forthcoming album. “Defenders Of Midgard” is a slow trudging song, constrasted with the blast of “Where Is Your God Now?” the first single we were treated to. Though it may be slower, it is just as devastating as any other material that the band has put out. Including the classic, folk stylings of the acoustic guitar both at the beginning and end of the track, its fantastic to see that Unleashed still have variant ideas.
With their new album just a couple of week’s away now, “Defenders Of Midgard” shows another side to Unleashed that would be interesting to be explored in the new album. Also interesting to note that the fast paced single is the follow to this song, often death metal bands can run out of steam a little, so it’s nice to know that some know when it’s good to pull the breaks back!
