It had been announced yesterday that the return of the hallowed UK Tech-Fest was among us and boy is it a great line up. With many different festivals all over Europe offering different tastes to whatever eclectic musical palette people are in demand of, some festivals are firmly now in the mainstream. I’m looking at you Download, not necessarily a bad thing, had it always been a mainstream festival. Over the years however the festival has become more and more radio friendly. Leading to new festivals, like Bloodstock or France’s Hellfest to open up the underground scene.

Embracing the ever evolving progressive side of modern metal Tech-Fest was created, founded in 2011 fast growing and now in its third year. Yesterday Tech-Fest released a crushing line up, consisting of headline act Decapitated and The Contortionist both UK exclusive appearances. Across three days spanning from the 9th of July to the 13th the two titans will be alongside the prog mad Haken and Cyclamen and many different bands, some making their UK debut. It’s a fantastic way to combine both the signed bands and some of the less well known, but just as apt bands that are just sprouting.
