Tesseract Perform On Stage Entirely Made Of Ice

It seems that this will most definitely be the year for Tesseract, having recruited Dan Tompkins back into the ranks the band are busy in the promo cycle for their new Live CD/DVD combo Odyssey. Celebrating the singers return it seems that the band aren’t quite done.

Though Metallica may have performed in Antartica they have not performed on a stage made entirely of ice! Being part of the Jägermeister Ice Cold series which took place in the snow village of Kittila,Lapland. A village that is entirely man made consisting of 20,000,000 kg of snow and 350,000 kg of crystal clear ice covering an area roughly 20,000 square metres. Consisting of an ice restaurant, cocktail bar, hotel, chapel and even a cinema. Added to the already impressive list is now the ice stage!

Though the band would be worried about the cold of the outside affecting their instruments, the other worry was how to get the punters there! Meaning that singer Dan Tompkins literally had to walk into a bar get on top of a table, promise people Jäger and they seemed to follow! With roughly one hundred or so people turning up for the show it would be deemed most definitely a success! Though performing a 75 minute set in minus conditions needed the members to have small heated packets placed in their hand before and after the songs.

A truly fantastic achievement that will no doubt put this band even more in the spotlight. Tesseract will be destined for great things, with their new album being released later on in September this year they ambitions may be unlimited!
