Well, how do we even begin to talk about what was probably one strangest, most difficult years in the festivals history? Wacken Open Air 2023 was met with rain on biblical proportions, throwing the entire festival in jeopardy as eager metalheads from around the world had to wait in shelters and see if the event would even take place.

It’s been a while since we all partied on the holy ground of Wacken Open Air – 2019. It’s been over two years since we’ve attended the world’s most beloved metal festival, and finally, we have the all-clear to return.

Wacken Open Air may be at the orgasmic pinnacle of metal festivals, but this year XXX takes on a different meaning, and a whole new reason to make the metal party even bigger.

Wacken Open Air is entering it’s dirty 30’s this year. Given how astounding last years festival was, we couldn’t be more excited.

Our annual travels to Wacken Open Air always bring some fond memories, fantastic discoveries and new friends. The 2018 edition of the festival might have just been the best one yet.
