An Interview With : Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost)

Doing the double shift at this year’s Bloodstock, following an appearance earlier in the day with Vallenfyre, new Paradise Lost drummer Waltteri Väyrynen treated fans of the festival to the premier Doom grooves that the band are known for. Hardly performing in Europe this year, the band make the most of their performance at this years Bloodstock. Speaking to the drummer we pondered how the man fit in with the band dynamic. Being friends and bandmates with Greg Mackintosh, there lies and understanding present but how does this translate in one of the biggest doom bands in the world?

Bloodstock 2016 : Day Two

After the absolutely phenomenal first day’s proceedings the bar was set incredibly high for Saturday. As the crowd thankfully weren’t needed to evacuate their slowly sinking tents owing to the constant beam of beautiful sunshine, save for that terrifying moment when we all woke up and heard rain, the ground had stayed firm. Walking / stumbling / running into the main stage area we were greeted with the roar of approval brought forth from the English take on Death ‘n’ Roll that is Vallenfyre.

Live Review : Paradise Lost + Tribulation + Lucifer

It would seem that the classic old adage that great things come in three’s is incredibly apparent. As we begin to move into Autumn venues are once again beginning to be filled up after the sonic drought that was August. With one of the best line ups this month we saw English doom mongers Paradise Lost bring the moping tonight. Though before we can get onto our main act there is the small act of the incredible support presented tonight.
