Poised to release their brand new album What Should Not Be Unearthed later this week, Nile are embarking on their brand new journey. Delivering a record that is decidedly their most punishing yet, whilst also ushering the band into the modern day. Set to tour the world over in support of the new record, the first stop will a European Tour. Nevertheless before that we were lucky enough to speak to Karl Sanders the band’s Egyptologist and guitarist extraordinaire about the brand new album, how the band got their name, what birthed the idea for the explanation of the lyrics in the booklet and of course whether or not they had ever been to Egypt!
A Bloodstock Interview With : Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint)
Appearing on and off from the Metal radar for a total of thirty three years at long last the silence from Armored Saint was broken this year. Releasing their brand new album Win Hands Down this year the band have proven that they are ready to be back and to be louder than ever. Following their appearance supporting Queensryche in London the band have a slot over at Bloodstock. The Final Tech Fest Interview With : Rich and Ross (Haken)
Saving one of the best for last we come to the end of our Tech Fest interviews with the magnificent Haken. Having just floored the entire Tech Fest crowd with one of the highlights of the festival no doubt. Performing material from their acclaimed The Mountain, stating that they have time to squeeze in one last song, ie the just shy of twenty minute epic that is “Crystallised” the band were one of the stand out acts of the festival. After finishing up their set we were lucky enough to have a chat with the delightful gents that are Richard Henshall and Ross Jennings. Speaking about the band’s work on the new album, Prog in the modern day and the all important concept album we entered the weird and wonderful world of Haken, like bacon!
A Tech Fest Interview With : Kaan and Colin (No Consequence)
Nearing an end to our slightly belated Tech Fest Interview flurry we were able to speak to yet another excellent band. Having been around for quite a while now in the UK Tech scene, No Consequence are somewhat of a house hold name. With both Kaan and Colin having attended Tech Fest since it’s infancy the two couldn’t have been happier to be performing later on, on the main stage. Poised to release their brand new album later this year Heart Of A Coward have been growing from strength to strength. With their previous release, the Danny Dyer loving Severance, reaching out to fans all over the world it has seen the band grow exponentially. At Tech Fest since it’s infancy the band have slowly been climbing up the musical food chain, leading to their absolutely incredible performance at Saturday’s headliner slot complete with an appearance of the Sweetness Owl! Before that however we were lucky enough to be able to speak to both the delightful Carl Ayers and Vishal Khetia about the new album, what it means to be head lining this year’s festival and how they have come to have such an extensive fanbase!
A Tech Fest Interview With : Arnor and Þórarinn (Agent Fresco)
Easily one the undisputed favourites of this year’s Tech Fest Agent Fresco won over our heart’s not just once but twice over the weekend. The first being their main support Saturday main stage slot and the second being a very exclusive and truly haunting acoustic set, which was to be one of the most moving experiences of music that the mass of Tech Fest goers would experience. With their brand new album Destrier set for release next Friday we were able to sit down for a chat with the truly charming Arnor and Þórarinn before both of these magnificent and truly honest performances. Speaking of the band’s new album, past experiences and what we might be seeing from this truly unique band that will very shortly and quite rightly take the world by absolute storm.
