After having announced that their new album Dormant Heart will be gracing our ears in January 2015, Sylosis have now released a brand new song. Entitled “Mercy” the song is very much still in the same vein of Sylosis that we all know but they have now incorporated cleaner vocals in the pre chorus, moving back to the sound they had on Conclusion Of An Age, whilst overall the sound is a more tuned up ready to attack Sylosis, with a driving rhythm in the verse and a break reminiscent of Sabbath for the denouement along with new drummer Ali Richardson of previous Bleed From Within fame we shall see if this adds a new dimension to the band in their latest album.
Whilst not only giving us an idea of what to expect from the new album the band have released the album’s track list and the ever typical Sylosis style in the Dormant Heart artwork. Following on from their previous trend of having long albums with lots of songs the band has a total of fourteen songs this time around. Although it’s great to have so much material there comes a point where some songs can begin to seem like filler. Either way we shall all find out what Dormant Heart holds soon enough, but for now jam their new song and check out the tracklisting below.
