Steven Wilson Shows Us The “Perfect Life”

Following the unending wait for Steven Wilson‘s fourth solo album, we finally are able to hear music from the forthcoming record. A departure from 2013’s ghost stories of The Raven… The new album Hand.Cannot.Erase. was inspired by Joyce Carol Vincent, a woman who led a lavish life, yet died and was not found until three years afterwards.

Naturally being at one with mystery this story resonated deeply with Wilson, promoting the album with the website www.handcannoterase.com detailing small aspects of our protagonists life, new song “Perfect Life” begins with female singer Ninet Tayeb‘s spoken word from the perspective of our lonely woman. Detailing various experiences the character and her sister went through. In typically Wilson style the song is a short snippet with his haunting vocals emerging in the latter half of the tune. A great teaser for the album which is yet to come. An introduction to the album, which will surely improve when the context of the album is finally understood.

The film itself is beautifully shot by Youssef Nassar, showing an innocence in both the colours of the brightly shot video and the playful interaction between siblings.
