Much to our excitement, a month ago Finnish power metallers Sonata Arctica announced that they would be releasing a re-recorded version of their classic album ‘Ecliptica‘. Today they have given us a taste of those re-recordings by streaming the track ‘Kingdom For A Heart‘.

Much to our surprise, it actually is classic Sonata Arctica revisited and very little has changed structurally. The production is crisp, and everything just sounds better. The only distinguishable changes seem to be the solos which suit the playing style of guitarist Elias Viljanen, but they are still very technical and sound very good. It is nice to know that Sonata Arctica still have that old playing style in them, despite a drastic change in musical direction in recent times.
