Soen has unveiled exciting news regarding their upcoming album, “Memorial,” scheduled for release on September 1 via Silver Lining Music. In anticipation, the band has released a powerful first single called “Unbreakable,” accompanied by an engaging music video.
The latest single serves as a preview of the forthcoming album, demonstrating Soen’s heavier musical direction while still maintaining their signature melodic sensibilities. Founder and drummer Martin Lopez shares his insight, describing “Unbreakable” as a song that explores the limitations individuals impose on themselves through blind belief. Vocalist and co-founder Joel Ekelöf adds that the track addresses the tendency of politicians and the media to polarize issues, advocating for humility and open-mindedness as a means of personal growth. Ekelöf describes “Unbreakable” as a fusion of classic metal and Soen’s distinctive style.
“Memorial” promises to be a compelling album, showcasing Soen’s ability to channel the challenges of contemporary society into a cohesive and impactful musical statement. The band skillfully combines compelling melodies with crushing guitar riffs and rhythms throughout the record. The album opener, “Sincere,” sets the tone with relentless propulsion, while the title track delivers a powerful groove and showcases Ekelöf’s evocative vocals amidst weighty tones. The album concludes with “Vitals,” a poignant and beautiful ballad reminiscent of the style of Pink Floyd. Overall, “Memorial” represents Soen at their creative peak, the culmination of years of artistic development—an inspiring modern hard rock classic.
“Memorial” will be available on September 1 through Silver Lining Music in various formats, including Deluxe CD, 12″ Vinyl Album (in both black and color variants), digital formats, and special D2C products and bundles. Pre-orders can be made through the band’s website.
