After their line up change it seems that Skeletonwitch could very well be in the fittest state the band have been in in years with their forthcoming EP The Apothic Gloom. Now the band unveil their longest song to date “Red Death, White Light“.
Having flirted with Black Metal in the past Skeletonwitch have full embraced their Black a metal tones on this lengthier track. Clocking in at seven minutes not a second feels overly forced or out of place. With the band working together brilliantly doing exactly what a band like Skeletonwich need to do, evolve.
Built on the foundation that the band laid way back with Permafrost yet now there seems to be slightly more explorative avenues gone down in search of melody. Listen to the track for yourself to see what I mean, despite it only being an EP I would imagine that the band will be having a fair amount of material for a full length some point next year but if the rest of the EP is anywhere near as good as this then we have nothing to worry about.
Skeletonwitch’s brand new EP The Apothic Gloom is set for an August 19th release via Prosthetic.
