With their brand new album XI : Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends been unleashed this year the band have unveiled a brand new video for “Vilja & Drom” and it’s not for the faint hearted.
Not exactly a secret among those that are keen for a black metal fix, Shining have been dubbed Suicidal Black Metal. Releasing their new album the band have unveiled their controversial music video for new song “Vilja & Drom“. Fantastically shot the video centres around the band performing in a stony room, contrasted with the incredibly graphic and violent imagery, consisting of people being shot, punched and killed in various ways.
Comments Kvarforth :
“ Apart from filming the band stuff in Helsinki, our director and long time collaborator Martin Strandberg was given the opportunity to search and purchase additional material form the archives of an official TV Station. Of the sequences that have been used in the video, about 75% of them have actually been shown on the late evening news. Those people complaining about the content should maybe open their eyes to what is being broadcast for everyone.“
It would seem that subtlety is not in Kvarforth’s vocabulary, a pertinent message that should not go unheard. I find it all the more shocking that most of the footage was actually used on television and this is deemed acceptable. Though for those with a weaker mindset and stomach you might want to stay away from this one!
