Due to have an album out later this year with his band Nile, the infamous sticks man George Kollias has also signed a deal with Season Of Mist for a solo album. Nigh on impossible to top in the death metal arena, Kollias‘ work with Nile has seem him reach some of the death metal elite coveted positions. With his solo output Kollias recorded all instruments himself, save for some guest appearance from metal masters the world over. We have yet to find out who appeared on what but its sure to be one hell of a death metal ride.
The greek born drummer has been round the world both with the legendary Nile and attending drum clinics the world over. Teaching both at LAB Music Education and Modern Music School in Athens. Between touring last year it was then that Kollias had decided to record his own solo record. Check out the unmixed preview below to give you a taster of what Invictus will sound like. Truth be told there are some large Nile influences at present, but hey, that’s what the man is known for! Perhaps there might be some experimentation that Kollias isn’t able to do on Nile records. Either way listen to the preview below and see what you think!
George Kollias’ solo album Invictus is scheduled for a May 19th release via Season Of Mist.
