It’s no secret that this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival has been fraught with countless amounts of issues. Though the biggest of which seemed to be a game of high stakes Chinese whispers.
Beginning with a comment that “metal was, grey, fat and bald” this spelled the end for Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Adding to the pot was Slayer guitarist who weighed in on the statement essentially trash talking the smaller stage. Then members from the smaller stage Jungle Rot in particular stated that they didn’t agree with this statement, that’s just putting it lightly.
The point is, this year’s festival has been an absolute disaster on all fronts. With the main act being Slayer, King Diamond many people stated that it was simply a glorified Slayer gig and now it has indeed come to an end. Stating that the final show of Rock star Mayhem Festival was indeed last night the festival’s co-founder posted a statement through Facebook about the decision.
Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival 2015 comes to an end. After spending 8 calendar years of passion and one full year of my life on the road with the festival, tonight is a very emotional night. All I know is we have all tried our damned hardest to make Mayhem a home for artists, a platform for bands to increase their fan base and a place where people feel welcomed.
