Whilst Rammstein have been fairly inactive for a while, it seems that the musical ambitions of it’s members have not died out!
Richard Z. Kruspe is focusing on his Emigrate project, and now it’s frontman Till Lindemann’s turn to present something different to the metal masses by collaborating with acclaimed metal producer and PAIN & Hyprocrisy frontman Peter Tägtgren.
Little has been directly announced about the project other than it is simply called Lindemann. We can guess though that it won’t be entirely a Rammstein knock off considering the involvement of Peter Tägtgren who takes industrial metal to the more groove and death metal perspectives, and early comments from those who have heard Lindemann’s demos are giving the thumbs up.
Richard Z. Kruspe shed some light on what is happening with all the members of Rammstein at the moment as Lindemann is the latest to undertake a new project:
“Flake’s writing a book, Till’s doing some kind of solo thing, but I haven’t heard anything,” he said. “That’s the other problem. We’ve been through so many years together, we’ve lost contact in a way. At 18 or 20, it’s natural to have a gang around you. But in your 40s or 50s, it’s not normal to be around five guys the whole year. Because normally you’d start a family, have children. It’s like a marriage with six guys who are never having sex. People get frustrated!”
We can expect Rammstein to be inactive for quite a while yet, but with Emigrate’s new ‘Silent So Long‘ receiving surprisingly positive reviews, we can hope for some good things from Lindemann to fill the void!
