Tasmanian metallers Psycroptic have decided to stream their brand new album before its release on Monday. After 2012’s The Inherited Repression, the bar was raised incredibly high, but it seems that although the band did throw down the gauntlet they most certainly have risen to the challenge. Releasing their first official single after our first taste “Echoes To Come“, we were then treated to “The World Discarded” a statement of intent. Following from that we saw a different side to Psycroptic with the acoustic nuances of “Cold“.
The band have evolved to show various different sides of their legato attack. Where The Inherited Repression may have been technically proficient at times there was slight lack lustre song writing. Leading for many of the songs to blur into another. Instead with their new album Psyrcroptic have stand out moments throughout the songs, and standout songs throughout the album! A truly fierce example of just what this band is capable of, having been around in the scene for a long time now, sixteen years to be exact. It’s about time that the boys got the recognition they deserve for their simply inspired style of metal. If you listen to one thing today, make it this.
