If you’ve not heard of them before Polyphia are a progressive instrumental band. What makes them different from the pack is their overall happy sound, which in “Sweet Tea” we can hear perfectly. The Satriani-esque chorus, sounds like it would fit in almost in as an old Asian song, mainly to do with the fact that pretty much all of this song is written in the major keys. Major overall gives everything a bright, happy and fun feeling to the songs making “Sweet Tea” have an almost playful aspect to it, but while it sounding happy its catchy, which is a lot more important .As well as having some top notch production making the sound clean as a whistle ,the song is inspired. Not many bands are doing the same as our boys in Polyphia, finding a way to stand out from the progressive metal crowd these days is hard. But with well placed notes with memorable rhythms Polyphia are slowly getting into people’s heads.
