The Motorhead axeman has a bit of a side project going on – bringing kids songs to life through rock’n’roll and giant pandas!

Phil Campbell has gotten himself involved with ‘Panda Party‘, a musical quartet of pandas that live on Panda Island and write music for children. The guitarist contributed a solo to the Panda Party track ‘Happy Birthday‘, a very Motorhead-esque version of a annoyingly catchy birthday song. He will allegedly not be the only rocker to make an appearance with Panda Party though, with a plan to get a whole line-up of celebrity musicians to contribute to the Panda Party project.

Campbell commented:

“Well, they say never work with animals and children but here I am, working with animals, for children! I like the dancing Pandas — I play the guitar on this but we need celebrities for each week.”

Could Phil Campbell blow off Motorhead to be a full time member of Panda Party?!
