Opeth and In Flames Announce American Tour
Once again America has seemingly got the best of both worlds. With the announcement that both Opeth and In Flames will be touring. The Communion of Sirens tour features the two giants along with none other than Red Fang as support. A line up like this as monstrous as it is, is pretty weird. Opeth now a band that have abandoned their death metal roots and play prog rock heavy madness coupled with In Flames who used to be as Gothenburg as they come and then throw Red Fang‘s riff heavy songs into the mix and you’ve got a truly weird melting pot. A talented melting pot,but an odd pot. Check the dates out on the poster below, Opeth‘s highly anticipated new album Pale Communion is released on the 25th of August via Roadrunner Records and In Flames following closely afterwards with Siren Charms on September 9th via Sony
Black Crown Initiate Release New Track
As of yet relatively unheard of Black Crown Initiate have been in people’s sights for about a year now, having been put on the small Canadian club tour of The Summer Slaughter as well as being announced as main support for the crushing Rivers of Nihil, BCI have seen it necessary to release a new song off their forthcoming album. Entitled “The Great Mistake” the new jam is fairly progressive and has elements from all sorts of the metal spectrum. Having previously released the EP Song Of The Crippled Bull, there was a small hubbub around Black Crown Initiate and for good reason. “The Great Mistake” is an ambitious take on melding modern metal with traditional progressive metal, think Meshuggah meets Opeth whilst chilling with Extol. Singing over almost arabian sounding melodies for most of the track gives a feel of ethereal ascending, pretty much echoed in the forthcoming album’s cover.
