Ah August! A month where everyone seemingly is nowhere to be found and everyone is getting ready for September to hit, everyone but Dragonforce who released their new album Maximum Overload showcasing some evolution in song writing and the usual shredathon and soaring vocals that make up Power Metal. Whilst the power metallers are busy air guitaring British new comers Acrania are bringing the slam with their new album Totalitarian Dystopia a fresh new combination of the classic brutal death metal with a modern touch. Of course not wanting to be in the ordinary Trioscapes win the most out there album of the week award with their alliteration laden Digital Dream Sequence.

 Utilizing a saxophone instead of the usual guitar and with the bass guitarist behind BTBAM Dan Briggs is definitely an interesting sound indeed. Last but not least we have Halcyon Way s new offering Conquer ensuring that modern metal heads aren’t left out with metal core tendencies and some slick solos.
