It’s been a long and very eventful few years since Nightwish have released new music. These years have seen dramatic line-up changes and in-band issues that have seen vocalist Floor Jansen multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley join the band full-time, as well as long-time drummer Jukka Nevalainen step down indefinitely to deal with personal medical issues.

But here we are, despite the early leak of the single and the controversy that surrounded it, a new Nightwish single has arrived entitled ‘Élan‘. The track is nothing drastically different from previous efforts, but is still a very catchy song and certainly makes full use of the dynamic vocals of Floor Jansen. It’s nothing new, but it’s Nightwish’s best single in a long time, it’s uncomplicated and soothingly brilliant!

The track comes from Nightwish’s new album ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful‘ released on 27th March via Nuclear Blast.
