In more avant garde news Napalm Death release a brand new video for third single “Smash A Single Digit” the two minute video, shot by Michael Panduro consists of 1093 drawings, put together to form a flip book of sorts. The minimalist style is a fantastic representation of the fierce simplicity the band employ.
The video itself is a take on the individual working man being swallowed whole by what would deem to be the capitalists, fat cats etc… Echoing the exact ideals of Apex Predator – Easy Meat. We see our single sketch man emerge from a moving package of meat to be immediately put to work on pushing out 2P pieces, until exhausted and then consumed by a higher class stepping over the other sketch men. The final shot zooming out to see that this process is indeed like a factory, industrial and unending.
Although the video might be a short one its pertinence is long lasting. With Napalm Death‘s new album having been recorded in bursts ensuring their violence and full on assault is contained in destructive bursts. This will definitely be one to turn some heads, making January very loud indeed.
Check out the video below, an interesting take on a new single that will really make you think.
