The reunion domino has seemingly struck veteran nu-metallers Mudvayne, as frontman Chad Gray has suggested it’s not over yet.
While everybody you used to listen to 15-years ago is making a comeback, now it is Mudvayne who are poised for the next vein of reunion music. Chad Gray was interviewed shortly after the departure of Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne guitarist) from phoenix-storied supergroup Hellyeah, and as there was a bit of bad blood in the separation many thought that this would result in the plug being pulled from any life in Mudvayne. Apparently this is not the case. Gray said when asked about Tribbett:
“Yeah, man. He has always been my right-hand man. He’s been the back I look at when I’m writing songs and the sounding board for my ideas. When everything went sideways, it was like losing a great friend. I was filled with fear and I had mixed emotions. At first, I was like, Goddamn, I don’t know if I’m ever gonna be able to do this without him.”
When asked about the whether Mudvayne was dead:
“I don’t think so. We all still talk. I’m not ready to put a headstone on anything yet.”
It’s a positive sentiment for any Mudvayne fan, but with the current Hellyeah album cycle in full swing, don’t count on any announcements or material any time soon!
