Moonspell’s London Date Moved One Day Due To Family Bereavement

More sad news in the metal world today, if you were planning on seeing Moonspell on their Road To Extinction 2015 Part 1 tour at their London date then you may want to check your calendar! Due to guitarist Ricardo Amorim’s father passing away just yesterday, though triumphantly the band have not decided to pull the London date, it has been moved. Originally the band wanted to postpone the show until a later date but as that is not possible the show will not be held on FRIDAY APRIL 3rd at The Underworld.

The band stated :

“It is with deepest sorrow and regret that we got the news this morning that our brother and Moonspell’s guitar player Ricardo Amorim’s father passed away.
Obviously some privacy is due and we’ll keep the details to ourselves, but the repercussions of this are obvious and although we are trying our utmost to keep the ripples in the water from turning into a tidal wave, a solution had to be found so that Ricardo can attend his father’s funeral and bid his last farewell.
As such, and out of a sense of commitment to our fans, we found a solution that allowed the show in London to happen regardless, but the date has necessarily been changed to Good Friday, April 3rd.
We collectively and in behalf of our friend and brother thank you for your understanding and sympathy, fully aware that this change might affect your plans. We, however, hope that you will join us in The Underworld on Friday, regardless. If ever there was a valid reason for a postponement, this is it.
Nothing would warm our wolfheart’s more than going on stage before a packed venue in this dark time, so we call upon you to join us and give us the energy we need to overcome this.
Always under the spell.”

You can only admire a band that will continue onward into the face of adversity despite everything that might be around them though we’re not sure what the situation will be post the London Show as Moonspell have a hectic tour schedule coming up with a U.S. stint with Septic Flesh and Deathstars

Once again, sadly we’ve said this far too much recently, our most sincere condolences to Ricardo and his family. Do him a favour and show your support on Friday and pick up their brand new album Extinct which is out now!
