After two members of legends Megadeth suddenly departed, bassist David Ellefson has spoken out amidst speculation that the end of Megadeth is nigh.
Guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shaun Drover announced their departure from Megadeth within hours of each other. Megadeth is no stranger to line-up changes, but mainman Dave Mustaine has yet to speak up on what has been going on inside the band camp, somewhat odd for someone who is usually very outspoken on public events.
Bassist David Ellefsson was the one to personally approach the Megadeth fan club and assure that all was OK:
“As you can probably tell by me being here today, we are not disbanding. As of right now, we are looking at all the options, of which there are many. We’ll certainly continue working on the new songs for the next record, Hopefully that brings everyone up to speed on things as of today. Thank you for all of your kind words, concerns and support to us.”
So there we have it, Megadeth will go on. That was always the likely scenario, but we are still certainly interested to see who the replacements will be for such iconic musicians. Place your bets!
