When Dave Mustaine isn’t auditioning new band members or auctioning off stuff, he’s pitting fans against each other to see who would be willing to pay the most for a songwriting session with the Megadeth mainman himself.
Megadeth launched a campaign on PledgeMusic where they guaranteed that those you gave a $5’000 donation for the new album would be able to sit with Dave and help churn out a few tunes. Bargain? Well the songwriting session is only 2 hours, making it $2’500 an hour to sit and make a little bit of progress for the new album. While we sit and question whether it is actually worth it, surely the Megadeth fan that has paid this was thrilled to be in the presence of his idol and being part of the creative process. The songwriting session is due to take place in Nashville, TN in the near future.
If you feel like donating towards the production of the new album, here is what Megadeth have offered:
$15 : New Megadeth album for digital download
$25 : Physical copy of new Megadeth album
$30 : An exclusive Megadeth t-shirt
