Definitely going to be one of the year’s biggest events Machine Head are releasing their very highly anticipated follow up to 2011’s Unto The Locust. With Machine Head’s schizophrenic career giving some of the best records of modern metal. The highly regarded Burn My Eyes and the brilliant The Blackening but they have also released Supercharger and the aforementioned Unto The Locust, so new album Bloodstones & Diamonds is pretty important. Knowing this to be potentially the biggest metal release of the year the band have now allowed the album to be streamed in its one hour and eleven minute entirety.

What can we say about the album itself? From this point of writing its very much leaning towards The Blackening, Through Ashes Of Empires of the Machine Head spectrum. Any Machine Head will find themselves immediately at home on the album. Although the band have released three singles so far its the material that we’ve not heard that is Machine Head’s secret weapon.  With all the trademarks from the singing of the artificial harmonics to Flynn’s characteristic yells, add in some new strings and you’re beginning to get an idea of what Bloodstones & Diamonds has to offer…
