No doubt everyone almost around the globe will know the tragic blow we have had in the Metal community today so we thought we would simply pay our respects.
Diagnosed with aggressive cancer on 26th of December Lemmy
has since passed after an unsuccessful battle. Today we have lost one of Metal’s true heroes. Simultaneously living and creating the Heavy Metal ethos, the man lived like no other. Making history with the absolutely brilliant Motörhead the man was a musical genius. Creating some of the best loved songs of our genre and our time the man was a vital element to the education of Heavy Metal and often a right of passage for those initiated in these most heavy of arts.
I remember watching Motörhead perform on The Young Ones’ University Challenge episode and thinking, now THAT is Rock ‘n’ Roll. Living life to the absolute maximum Lemmy has indeed been many a boys dream. To live how he did, act how he acted and plain and simply not give a fuck. Now those boys are middle aged, nevertheless a Motörhead fan is eternal, regardless of age the Heavy Metal spirit is omnipresent. Lemmy was Rock ‘n’ Roll, the sense of danger, the man your mother wouldn’t want you to look up to but now who else would you look up to. Wherever he is, it got a little bit louder.
Lemmy, louder than absolutely everything else.
