In somewhat unexpected news, vocalist Johnny Solinger of classic metallers Skid Row has announced his departure after 15 years behind the mic.

He announced on his Facebook page today:

“I have decided to leave Skid Row to pursue my solo career. The past 15 years has been a great experience and I have appreciated the opportunity to be the lead singer in one of the most prominent bands of the 1990’s and share stages with the likes of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and KISS performing in front of millions throughout the world. I wish Skid Row the best of luck in their future pursuits. \m/”

An excellent singer with a massive range, certainly filling the big boots left behind by former iconic vocalist Sebastian Bach. And on that note, there has been quite a bit of suggestion in interviews over the past couple years that a Skid Row reunion with Bach isn’t out of the realm of possibility. What better time than now?

The band have currently not commented on the departure of Solinger, but the break seems passive and the band would most likely accept his departure without any bad blood.
