High On Fire return with their brand new record, following on from 2012’s brilliant De Vermis Mysteriis, the band have announced that they will be releasing the new album via eOne music on June 23rd. Recorded at Godcity studios in Salem, Massachusetts the new album promises to be some of the heaviest material the band have written. Returning to record with Kurt Ballou perhaps we might see some sides of the band not exhibited before!

When asked about the new album vocalist Matt Pike states :

“We’re doing our part to expose The Elite and the fingers they have in religion, media, governments and financial world downfall and their relationship to all of our extraterrestrial connections in the race to control this world,” comments vocalist / guitarist Matt Pike. “Wake up, it’s happening. All while we stare at a socially engineered lie we think of as normalcy. Unless we wake from the dream, there will come true doom.

As happy a subject as ever then in the metal world, though this is sure to be one of the summer’s biggest releases, everyone should mark their calendar. The band have also released the artwork for the forthcoming album entitled Luminiferous, typically as High On Fire as you can get, melding a sense of heavy metal and fantasy all together yet not being cheesy whatsoever. Fingers crossed we shall be getting some new music soon!
