We love finding new metal at The Metalist, even from the darkest corners of the internet. Every now and then we will find something that we really like and pick your brain with ‘Have You Heard Of’.
This rendition of ‘Have You Heard Of’, we take a look into the realm of instrumental metal. It is fair to say that there is a enormous wasteland of instrumental metal by bands or individuals who write songs to be performed by a full band, but cannot sing themselves or find a vocalist. Desperate to get the music out they record it anyway falling short with long sections intended to be verses just missing out on something spectacular. Instrumental metal is a real art, and if you can keep the listen interested you really have accomplished something.
This is exactly the case with Jakub Zytecki – a guitar prodigy from Przeworsk, Poland. Recently Jakub’s track ‘Magic Box’ graced the speakers at The Metalist and it was simply a pleasure to listen to. The track was djent on speed with a sudden bridge into melodic keys being overlayed by some fast and clean melodic solo work, a track that really peaked interest everywhere in it’s 4 minute length.
Looking into Jakub’s YouTube videos we have found that we plays in a band called Disperse and his skill has gave him the opportunity to represent Ernie Ball strings at NAMM 2014. Check out the track that impressed below:
