Fossilised: Fossils in Norwegian Exhibit Given Heavy Metal And Punk Names

A fossil exhibit that is about to open in Oslo, Norway containing 420-million year old fossils is about to open on July 27th, and they have been named after metal and link artists.

The exhibit includes fossilised giant worms and dinosaurs with latinised metal names such as Kingnites Diamondi after King Diamond and Kalloprion Kilmisteri after Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.

Apparantley the names were given to the fossils in accordance with the rock stars they resembled…maybe King and Lemmy are starting to look like fossils themselves?

Quite cool to see how the world of palaeontology also spreads to rock and metal. If you are in Norway worth checking out, if not the fossils are planning to go on tour. Really. Keep checking your local natural history museum billing!
