It seems that as the months go on this year more and more of the metal community are meeting their end. After the deaths of GWAR’s Dave Brockie last year and Wayne Static before the year was out. So far we have had to say goodbye to Broken Hope drummer Ryan Stanek, Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero and now sadly adding to the ranks is Death bassist Scott Clendenin who has died at the age of 47.
The bassist was the man the behind the stringed attack on the final Death masterwork, The Sound Of Perseverance. Bass being extremely prominent on this album, he shall forever be remembered for his finest hour. Not to mention prior to his death he had been touring with Death To All. The band that has assembled various players from Death‘s past to recreate some of their finest material. Truly a crying shame, although at current we do not know what the bassist’s cause of death is.
In honour of this great musician I implore you all to play this absolute gem, that any self respecting Death fan will have.
Rest In Peace Scott. The Metalist sends their deepest condolences to Clendenin’s friends and family.
