Ahead of their release next week Enslaved have made their thirteenth studio album available to stream in its entirety. In Times although comprised of six tracks clocks in at 53 minutes. A prog head’s dream, combining their classic element of black metal on In Times the band fully flex their progressive muscles. Although it has to be said that in part, some of the album is the most straight forward black metal the band has released in recent years. Previously seeing both singles of “Thurisaz Dreaming” and “One Thousand Years Of Rain” this is merely a third of the musical genius presented by Ivar Bjornson and his cohorts.
Definitely one of the best releases thus far this year, giving melancholy a sharp edge with the rasping vocals, to the ethereal style riffs the band conjure a sense of philosophical giants, echoed perfectly by the album artwork. So without further ado, sit down, relax, press play and be transported to the world of In Times. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our review of the album soon!
