As with so many other bands so far (all nine days) of this year,the good news just keeps on coming. Now it has been said that Dream Theater will be entering the studio in February to work on their follow up to the epic self titled effort. A tentative fall release is expected, I would put my money on September, not only is creating the music hard enough, but to be able to completely nail the tracks will take some time.

Although 2012’s self titled effort was a brilliant effort, there were some elements that I personally couldn’t quite get into. This doesn’t mean that I thought the record was terrible, not by a long shot. Perhaps it was more to do with their incredibly daunting back catalogue. Having only really themselves as competition! This will also be Mangini’s third album which might see him take a little more prominence in the writing sessions, delivering a slightly different sound. Either way we shall be seeing and hearing new Dream Theater in 2015!
